Compass Box Has Found a New Whisky Muse and She’s World‑Famous

Compass Box is ready for the new edition of its Hedonism whisky. As always, the blender has chosen a fresh muse. The woman gracing the bottle this year is a world-famous Hollywood actress from Scotland: Karen Gillan.

Every year, Compass Box releases a new edition of its Hedonism blended grain whisky. This year’s bottling is a special one, featuring none other than Karen Gillan (Jumanji, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy).

Gillan was photographed in an extensive session and later digitally transformed by artist Emma Hack, renowned for her visual art projects. For the label, the artist adorned the Hollywood actress with a tapestry of flowers and gilded body art.

What is the Compass Box Hedonism 2026 whisky?

The new edition of Hedonism stands out not just for its label. The whisky in the blend has also been elevated. Angela D’Orazio, creative director of whisky making at Compass Box, shares that this release includes some of the oldest components ever used in Hedonism whisky.

'The 2026 release is unmistakably Hedonism, but this year’s expression is richer, darker and more intense than previous editions. It is also the first time we have used an old sherry component in Hedonism, which brings a new flavour perspective to our original and most iconic whisky.'

The blend includes, among others, a 30-year-old grain whisky from Strathclyde Distillery, complemented by whiskies aged 20 to 24 years from Port Dundas Distillery and Cameronbridge Distillery. In addition, mature blended grain whiskies have been woven into the mix.

As for the tasting notes, expect aromas of spiced fruitcake with clove, dates, and toffee. On the palate, look for notes of coffee and cream with cocoa.

Compass Box Hedonism The Muse 2026 is a limited-edition release: only 13,126 bottles worldwide. During the pre-sale via Master of Malt, the price is £90 per bottle. Compass Box Hedonism will launch globally on March 1.
