Video games and whisky go together like a house on fire. Not too long ago, a strikingly cool The Last of Us whisky made its debut. And there are many more video game-whiskies out there. You've undoubtedly heard about the popular game series, Assassin's Creed. But did you also know there is an Assassin's Creed
whiskey available for purchase?
This article was previously published on our Dutch version.
What kind of whisky is the Assassin's Creed whiskey?
Assassin’s Creed is the brainchild of game-developer Ubisoft. Unfortunately, it was announced just last week that their office in Benelux is closing its doors, following reports that development on three games had been discontinued. Things are not looking so rosy for Ubisoft at the moment.
But thankfully, we have memories—memories of fantastic games and the products inspired by them! Because Assassin’s Creed launched its very own whisky last year. This particular brew is a
bourbon, curated by Antheum Studios.
This whisky was released in celebration of the fifteenth anniversary of the Assassin’s Creed series. The blend hails from the Tennessee Legend Distillery. On the official website, it reads:
‘Produced in the hill country of Texas and finished in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, this four-year-old pure
bourbon whisky offers a robust flavor with rye spice, wheat character, and hints of cherry, vanilla, and oak. This iconic selection, appealing to both aficionados and fans of distilled spirits, is a worthy addition to any bar. Game hard, drink responsibly.’
Only in the US
Unfortunately, we have some disappointing news for our readers; you can only purchase this whisky
in the United States, and even then, it’s only available in 37 states. This is indeed a bitter pill to swallow if you're a game and whisky lover trying to get your hands on one of these unique bottles.
