Dutch Whisky Week Announced: A Week Full of Dutch Whisky Activities

With great pleasure we announce something new: Dutch Whisky Week. Why not celebrate the Dutch water of life? That’s exactly what we’re going to do for an entire week!

This is when whisky lovers across the Netherlands can dive into a world of Dutch-made whiskies. Tastings, distillery visits, meet-the-maker events — it’s all happening!

You may not always realize it, but just like in Scotland or Ireland, whisky is also made in the Netherlands. In fact, the whisky landscape is bubbling like never before with dozens of distilleries.

Some produce on a large scale, making it their full-time job; others distil out of pure passion alongside another profession. These micro-distilleries deserve your attention. As the saying goes: Those who do not honour the small are not worthy of the great.

Over the past months, Whisky Monkeys has been working behind the scenes to bring this initiative to life. We’ve built a brand-new website and teamed up with distilleries and whisky companies across the country. The result? A nationwide celebration of Dutch whisky like never before.

For a whole week you can enjoy all kinds of activities across the country — from meet-and-greets with master distillers to whisky tastings, dinners, and even bottling your own whisky.

Many distilleries will be hosting something special during Dutch Whisky Week. Check the schedule and get your tickets early. Places are limited, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

You’ll also discover distilleries you may not have heard of, ones you don’t often see in the spotlight. This is your chance to learn more about these whiskies and the people behind them. The Netherlands as a whisky-producing country deserves recognition. The schedule will continue to expand in the coming weeks, so check back regularly.

You'll find fun activities to participate in from Monday to Saturday. You might wonder what's happening on Sunday? The biggest Dutch whisky festival is coming up. The ticket sale is not yet open, as we're still liaising with the municipality. But you can already mark the date in your calendar: February 1 2026.
