FAQ
  • What is Glencadam Distillery known for?
Fresh, elegant Highland single malts with no peat, focusing on pure distillate, long fermentation, and maturation primarily in ex-bourbon casks.
  • Is Glencadam whisky peated?
No. All Glencadam whiskies are unpeated.
  • Why is Glencadam popular among whisky enthusiasts?
Because of its natural bottlings: non-chill filtered, no added color, and often bottled at 46 percent or higher, delivering more flavor and depth.
Glencadam Distillery in Scotland has opted for a more modern look for its packaging, aiming to strengthen its international premium position with a refreshed presentation.

A new look from the hand of a Harry Potter illustrator

The design of the bottles and tubes leans into the distillery’s heritage with hand-drawn illustrations by Edinburgh-based Andrew Davidson, who previously worked on the Harry Potter books.
The tubes and labels also feature bold colors that reflect the character of the whisky inside.
Glencadam’s bottle now carries a handsome nod to the distillery’s water wheel, embossed around the base.
The new look rolls out this month across the Glencadam 10 Year Old, 15 Year Old, Reserva PX, and the distillery’s new expression: Glencadam 17 Year Old Réserve de Calvados.

What is Glencadam 17 Year Old Réserve de Calvados?

Glencadam 17 Year Old Réserve de Calvados is a single malt crafted by the distillery’s master blender, Iain Forteath. He initially matured the whisky in American oak ex-bourbon casks.
It was then finished in Calvados casks from Normandy. The exact duration of the finish has not been disclosed, but the flavor profile speaks for itself.

How does Glencadam 17 Year Old Réserve de Calvados taste?

  • Nose: Notes of baked apples, heather honey, sugared almonds, and vanilla sponge, layered with cocoa and chamomile.
  • Palate: Apple strudel, spiced fruits, and butterscotch, followed by ginger, dark chocolate, candied orange, and clove.
  • Finish: Warm and creamy with cappuccino and custard tarts, lifted by blossom and lemon sorbet, tapering into cocoa and baking spices.
This release is limited to 6,360 individually numbered bottles and is bottled at 46% ABV, naturally colored and non-chill filtered.
The recommended price is £140. You can purchase a bottle directly from the distillery. It’s not yet clear whether it will appear on retailers’ shelves.
