What’s in store for Dutch Whisky Week across the province of Groningen?

Late January is Dutch Whisky Week. You can, of course, find all the activities on the official website, but what if you’re not quite sure which province the distilleries are in? We’ll point you in the right direction.

On the Dutch Whisky Week website, you’ll find a map showing all participating distilleries. But even easier is if we simply highlight the activities by province for you, right? That’s exactly what we’re going to do.

Today we’re kicking off with Groningen. It’s where Whisky Monkeys is based and it’s just a great province to explore!

These are the participating distilleries from Groningen:

This distillery is located in Oostwold and is hosting activities on January 30 and 31 during Dutch Whisky Week. On one of these days you can taste cask strength whisky: bottlings with an ABV of over 60%! There’s also a tasting where you’ll explore the differences between armagnac, slivovitz, and whisky.

Don’t let the name fool you—there’s more than genever here; whisky is very much part of the story. You can discover it on January 29 and 30. On both days, they’re offering a whisky tasting and an in-depth tour. We’ve been promised you’ll get to sample the distillery’s very first whisky!
