Whisky is for everyone and it's not uncommon to see a famous actor or actress savouring this divine drink. Want to know which celebrities have had a little flirtation with whisky? Discover it here.

Harrison Ford

We kick off this list with Harrison Ford. What a remarkable figure he still is at 83! He continues to coin amazing moments in life. Look no further than Apple TV+ where he is seen in the comedic TV series, Shrinking. Do you think his agility is down to whisky?
Fact is, over the past few months, very cool videos have surfaced that feature him visiting Glenmorangie distillery. Here is Harrison Ford as we often see him: slightly grumpy, amusing, and charming. His opinion of Glenmorangie whisky is also clear - 'Nice'.

Mila Kunis

For the next star on our list, we need to venture back to 2017. Did you know actress Mila Kunis advertized for Jim Beam that year? She does admit she was a casual whisky drinker before teaming up with the brand. Her husband Asthon Kutcher’s penchant for rye whiskies in his Penicillin cocktails sparked her interest. In an exclusive interview, she said:
'There’s a gap in the market for women promoting brown spirits (...) I see women promoting wine and ultra-feminine drinks and I think whisky is no less feminine. I wanted to open that door and say it's okay for women to order whiskey and feel just as empowered as when they would order a Cosmo.'
- Asthon Kutcher’s
Nowadays Kunis isn't promoting the brand any longer and her current relationship status with the drink is unknown.
Fun fact: did you know that Leonardo DiCaprio has advertised the brand in Asia?

Matthew McConaughey

In 2016, Matthew McConaughey was named the creative director of Wild Turkey Longbranch. He apparently had a long-standing love for bourbon. A grand campaign was launched and a successful bottle released. If you manage to get your hands on a bottle of Wild Turkey Longbranch from the period between 2016-2022, you'll own a bottle graced with his signature.
When his contract ended in 2022, McConaughey stepped down from the collaboration. Consequently, his name and signature do not grace current bottles. These days, the actor is active in the tequila market. However, he likely still indulges in a glass of bourbon every now and then.

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley

The next gents we should mention are a duo. The TV brothers from the hit series The Vampire Diaries, jointly launched their successful bourbon brand, called Brother’s Bond.
With the brand's name, they're paying homage to the bond they built on the series set. It's a smart move, as many fans followed them on this journey, having occasionally signed bottles possible on various locations in the US. Brother’s Bond has bagged some awards by now and is increasingly being distributed worldwide, including Europe.

Johnny Depp

One to really relish his whisky is none other than Johnny Depp. That fact was saliently revealed during the notorious court case between him and Amber Heard. Depp admitted that throughout his relationship with Heard, whisky was always readily available. The scenario becomes quite amusing when the judge asks him if he occasionally drinks in the morning.
Depp hesitated briefly, then responded: ‘Isn’t it happy hour any time?’ If you need a good laugh, you can revisit the video below.

Ewan McGregor

Moving on from this jest, we present a Scot. Which Scot isn't part whisky by nature? The actor, known for stellar roles in Star Wars and Trainspotting, recently auctioned off whiskies from a private cask of his from Lochranza Distillery. The barrel was gifted to him in 1998 and its fruits are now being reaped. Quite impressive!

Keanu Reeves

This list would be incomplete without mentioning Keanu Reeves. He was enlisted by Suntory for their centennial celebrations. Reeves, a whisky lover, openly expresses his love for Japanese whisky. He has a soft spot for Hibiki, and just as there are online videos of Ford promoting Glenmorangie, you'll find Reeves promoting Suntory.

Nick Offerman

There's a Lagavulin bottle that continues releasing: a collaboration with actor Nick Offerman. His passion for this whisky is widely evident in the TV series Parks and Recreation, where his character Ron Swanson is often seen sipping on a glass of whisky.
So far, several Offerman editions of Lagavulin have been released:
  • Lagavulin Offerman Edition 11 Year Old (2019)
  • Offerman Edition: Guinness Cask Finish (2021)
  • Offerman Edition Charred Oak Cask (2022)
  • Offerman Edition Caribbean Rum Cask Finish (2023)

Sam Heughan

Speaking in Offerman’s context, we mustn't forget Sam Heughan. This Scot is naturally smitten by whisky. He even authored a book on the subject: Two Scots and Plenty of Whisky and has his own whisky brand, The Sassenach. It's still relatively hard to find a bottle in the Netherlands, but it's popularly recognized as a good brand among whisky lovers. Furthermore, the brand has bagged several awards.

Cillian Murphy

Last but not least, we round off with Irish actor Cillian Murphy. His character Thomas Shelby is a heavy whisky drinker, and that's sure to be noticeable as soon as the Peaky Blinders movie hits theatres. Furthermore, he's also done a voiceover for a commercial by Jameson. Does 1 + 1 equal 2 in this case? We can't be sure but it wouldn't be surprising if Murphy enjoys a wee dram of whisky, or should we say, whiskey, every now and then.
