Sometimes, you want a little taste before you make the purchase. Douglas Laing & Co. is offering whisky enthusiasts that opportunity with free whisky samples in an eye-catching package. The Remarkable Regional Malts have been transformed into Breaker-like pouches containing 3cl of whisky.

Douglas Laing launches whisky sample pouches

Independent bottler and whisky-maker Douglas Laing has launched a new initiative: through its new Try Before You Buy portal, enthusiasts can discover the Remarkable Regional Malts.

This is not just visually, but also through taste. Through the portal, the whisky maker has made available small pouches reminiscent of the Breaker packages from the supermarket.

However, these don't contain yogurt but 3 centiliters of whisky. The packaging announces the idea behind the pouches: 'have a dram on us.'

Cara Laing, managing director at Douglas Laing, says that whisky enthusiasts can discover the Regional Malt in a unique way.

'We’re always looking for innovative ways to bring our Whisky closer to consumers. This campaign allows new Whisky drinkers to explore the distinct styles of our Regional Malts and, importantly, to discover which dram resonates with their palate.'

Not all whiskies from the Remarkable Regional Malts are represented. The Gauldrons and The Epicurean are missing.

Douglas Laing whisky sample packs not for everyone

The Douglas Laing whisky packs are not for everyone. There are a few limitations. For instance, there are only 350 packs, and they are only distributed to people in Great Britain. People in the rest of the world are left out.

Fortunately, we have other ways to sample. Consider attending a whisky festival where you can taste myriad whiskies, or get an advent calendar filled with all kinds of flavorful whiskies.
