Charles Leclerc teams up with Chivas Regal to launch a whisky

Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc and Chivas Regal have unveiled a limited-edition whisky: the brand’s first-ever 16-year-old. The new Chivas Regal 16 was created in collaboration with Master Blender Sandy Hyslop, bringing together time-honored whisky expertise with modern ambition and craftsmanship. And this blend has everything to do with the Formula 1 driver.

The exclusive blend is inspired by Leclerc’s iconic starting number, 16. It also marks the Ferrari driver’s whisky debut. With this release, Chivas Regal underscores its focus on innovation, quality, and luxury blended Scotch whisky, according to the announcement.

During a visit to Scotland, Charles Leclerc immersed himself in the Scotch whisky production process. His attention was especially drawn to the sherry cask–matured Longmorn Single Malts, which play a key role in the new blend.

Together with Sandy Hyslop, Leclerc crafted a whisky that reflects his personal taste and the character of Chivas Regal. According to Leclerc, the number 16 holds special meaning in his career, giving this project extra significance.

Master Blender Sandy Hyslop emphasizes that Leclerc was genuinely involved in the development process and didn’t just lend his name to the product.

The new Chivas Regal 16 comes with extensive tasting notes. This blended whisky stands out for its layered flavor profile. On the nose, initial notes of sweet mandarin, raisins, and Manuka honey emerge, followed by aromas of cinnamon and creamy toffee.

On the palate, look for orange marmalade, apple pie, toasted oak, and a subtle hint of ginger. The finish is long, smooth, and velvety: exactly what aficionados expect from a premium 16-year-old blended Scotch whisky.

Whisky lovers can already find this exclusive limited edition for around 60 euros. Later this month, Chivas Regal Crystalgold will also be unveiled.
