Whisky labels can sometimes be works of art in their own right. Take the labels from Compass Box, for example. The whiskymaker is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a major exhibition in Miami titled Imaginarium: The Fantastical World of Compass Box and Stranger & Stranger.
Hold a bottle of Compass Box in your hands and it’s often a feast for the eyes. Not stark text on a white background, but an evocative piece of artwork you can’t help but linger over.
Consider the varied Hedonism labels, each featuring a different woman. If the labels were any larger, you’d be tempted to hang them on the wall. And that’s exactly what Compass Box has done with a grand exhibition at the Wolfsonian-FIU museum in Miami.

What is Compass Box Imaginarium?

Imaginarium: The Fantastical World of Compass Box and Stranger & Stranger is an exhibition by the Scottish whisky brand centered on craft, storytelling, and visual art. All of this is cleverly woven into a modern whisky experience, with Compass Box whisky taking center stage.
In collaboration with creative design agency Stranger & Stranger, Compass Box has created an exhibition that serves as a journey through the brand’s history. Whisky lovers move from the company’s earliest vision to its modern-day icons.
Here, you can spend hours gazing at a whisky label without even holding the bottle. Whiskies like The Entertainer, Brûlée Royale, Canvas, Rogues’ Banquet, and the renowned Hedonism series are presented as artworks in their own right.

Compass Box’s Imaginarium exhibition won’t stay in one place

The Compass Box exhibition is open through mid-January 2026. After that, it will leave the Wolfsonian.
According to Racheal Vaughan Jones, chief marketing officer at Compass Box, the exhibition’s reception has been overwhelmingly positive—and that’s reason enough not to stop there.
'The response means we hope to bring Imaginarium to a city near you soon. Watch this space.'
No announcement has been made yet about other locations around the world where versions of the exhibition may appear.
