Glasgow Distillery is adding a new whisky to its core range, crafted from both peated and unpeated spirit. The Glasgow 1770 Bourbon Cask Matured Single Malt is eight years old and made in equal parts from peated and unpeated whisky. Both were double distilled and then married together in an ex-bourbon cask.
Mike Hayward, co-founder of Glasgow Distillery, explains that this whisky creates a bridge between different ranges from the distillery. In the Ruby Port Cask and the Bourbon Cask Matured whisky Glasgow Distillery can really showcase their experimental character of whisky making.

What are the tasting notes of the Glasgow 1770 Bourbon Cask Matured Single Malt?

The whisky comes with detailed tasting notes on the website. We’ve listed them below:
  • Nose: Floral honey and vanilla with a hint of sweet smoke. Further floral undertones with toffee apple and buttery citrus.
  • Palate: Silky, with rich vanilla, cream, tropical fruits like pineapple, clementine, and malt loaf.

The whisky is bottled at 54% alcohol by volume (ABV). This is cask strength for this edition.
