Emma Walker and Olivier Rousteing collaborate once more

A second whisky has emerged from the collaboration between Emma Walker and Olivier Rousteing. The new blend has been developed in the enigmatic Johnnie Walker Vault beneath Princes Street in Edinburgh. It's a veritable laboratory of taste and innovation, where old barrels and fresh ideas converge.

For The Couture Blend, Walker selected whiskies from ten distilleries, including some from ghost distilleries such as Port Dundas and Caledonian, their elusive monikers lending depth, smoothness, and a hint of intrigue. She paired them with modern and experimental whiskies like Benrinnes, Cragganmore, and Teaninich, resulting in a multifaceted profile that's both classic and surprising.

Walker employed her selection of exceptional ingredients:

'I opted for rare malts from Roseisle, matured in former wine barrels, for fruity, tropical flavours; a spicy chocolate malt experiment from Teannich for tonka notes; and a ghost cask from Port Ellen for a unique smoky layer. By blending these with the classic flavors of Johnnie Walker, something truly unique was born - I hope it captures the spirit of Olivier.'

The bottle itself is a work of art. Rousteing designed an architectural crystal decanter, boasting pronounced shoulders, an oversized cap, and a gold finish. The design plays with contrasts: sleek and modern, yet subtly paying homage to the iconic square Johnnie Walker bottle.

'I wanted to create something that captured the tension between minimalism and maximalism, that sparked conversation and curiosity, that was rooted in the present but futuristic and timeless. I relished the paradox of pure crystal and decadent gold, which the decanter with its oversized stopper completes. For such a unique whisky, which marries old and new, traditional and experimental, this was the perfect, unexpected piece of art that we appreciated.'
