Innovative maturation with volcanic rock

What truly sets Talisker Magma apart is its pioneering maturation technique. After decades in American oak, the whisky was given a distinctive finish in new oak casks toasted with volcanic rock from Skye.

Instead of traditional flames, Talisker uses heated stones to slowly toast the cask interiors. This controlled, flame-free process deepens the profile and amplifies the fruit notes. The result is a complex whisky where smoke, minerality, and spice come together in perfect balance.

Nose: Soft and refined with a prickle of chili pepper, then a distinctly maritime and mineral profile of wet stones, seaweed, and salt, layered with sweet toffee, delicate sandalwood, and a wisp of background smoke.
Palate: Creamy and silky with an intense mineral opening; lightly sweet and saline, building into toffee tones and warm spice, where smoke and sweetness intertwine and a gentle yet unmistakable peppery kick emerges.
