50 Years of Glenfarclas in One Trunk

In 2019, Glenfarclas introduced a unique collector's item: the Family Cask Trunk. This impressive wooden trunk houses 50 bottles of single cask whisky, each from a consecutive year spanning 1954 to 2003.

Each bottle comes from a different cask, all carefully selected from the Family Cask series. This is the crème de la crème of the Scottish distillery.

The bottles are all 200 ml in size, meaning the trunk contains a total of 10 liters of whisky. But it's not just about the content. The trunk was designed as a tribute to the heritage of the Grant family, who have owned Glenfarclas since 1865.

Only 100 Copies Worldwide

The production of this trunk was limited to just 100 pieces worldwide. This makes it one of the most exclusive releases in the world of Scotch whisky. The original asking price was around 100,000 euros.

Despite this price tag, the collector's item, complete with cabinet, sold out quickly. This was not only due to its rarity but also its appeal to collectors and investors.

Each trunk also contains extras, including four tumblers, four nosing glasses, and a water jug, four stone coasters, three books (about the distillery, tasting notes, and your personal tasting journal) and finally, a replica of the oldest painting of Glenfarclas Distillery, the original of which hangs in a private room at the distillery.

Although we just mentioned that the cabinet is sold out, we found one still available online at Fine Drams. They have one listed for sale at 129,000 euros.
