On Orkney, Highland Park has been crafting whisky for years using distinctive peat. The result is a beautifully gentle smoke with a hint of heather. Now the distillery is turning up the intensity with the Highland Park Cask Strength Heather whisky.
This is the first in a new series of releases, each bottled at cask strength. The new single malt is made entirely from 100% peat-smoked malted barley. The peat is classic Highland Park floral-forward and aromatic.
After distillation, the spirit matured in a combination of first-fill European and American oak sherry casks.
It’s been bottled at an impressive cask strength of 63.6%, giving enthusiasts the chance to experience the whisky as it was in the cask.
