Of one of the bottles, the Kilchoman 100% Islay, it is already certain that it is coming, because it is an annual release.
The other whisky, the
Kilchoman 11 Year Old Sherry Cask Matured whisky, has not been confirmed by the distillery yet. Nevertheless, we don't want to withhold you from the information about this
Islay whisky.
What is the Kilchoman 100% Islay 15th edition whisky?
The 15th release of the 100% Islay whisky is just around the corner. The new Kilchoman whisky, like its 14 predecessors, is entirely grain-to-glass from the
Scottish whisky island.
It is not known which types of casks were used, but it is certain that this is a single farm
single malt whisky. Everything was done in-house at Kilchoman.
What are the tasting notes of the Kilchoman 11 Year Old Sherry Cask Matured whisky?
Here are the tasting notes you can look forward to:
- Nose: Vanilla, tropical fruit, fresh hay, roasted oak with grassy hints and salted butter.
- Palate: Milk chocolate, salted caramel, fresh peat smoke, sugared fruit, lemon, ripe pear and hints of white pepper.
- Finish: Persistent maritime peat smoke with fresh fruit and honey.
The whisky is bottled at 50 percent alcohol by volume (ABV).
What is the Kilchoman 11 Year Old Sherry Cask Matured whisky?
As the name already suggests, the Kilchoman 11 Year Sherry Cask Matured whisky is a spirit that has been allowed to mature for 11 years. This happened exclusively in sherry casks, which have imbued the spirit with sweet notes of dried fruit.
In addition, the single malt whisky has a hint of peat smoke, which gives it a somewhat stronger character.
What are the tasting notes for the Kilchoman 11 Year Old Sherry Cask Matured whisky?
The tasting notes indicated on the label are as follows:
- Nose: Orange peel, dried fruit, light peat smoke and sweet spices.
- Palate: Dark chocolate, rich smoke, honey, cooked apples and sweet malt notes.
- Finish: Grilled plums, raisins and persistent wood smoke.
