Do you enjoy
Sazerac Rye Full Proof? Good news: this expression has been added to Sazerac Rye’s core range. The announcement follows an
expansion at Buffalo Trace.
The whiskey first became a favorite among bartenders, but its appeal has since broadened significantly.
Harlen Wheatley, master distiller at Buffalo Trace, welcomes the move:
'Compared to our core products like Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare, which lean more toward apple and cherry notes, our ryes have more citrus and spice, which really shows in Full Proof. With each sip, you will see the balance between the sweetness and spice. The Full Proof allows us to preserve the whiskey’s full character.'
- Harlen WheatleyThe whiskey is bottled at a robust 62.5% ABV (125 proof). This is exceptionally high for the rye whiskies of Sazerac, but delivers a powerful character with a lot of depth.
A flavorful whiskey
According to Andrew Duncan, global brand director at Buffalo Trace Distillery, this whiskey is ideal for those seeking “more flavor.” He describes it as showing “the brand’s floral notes of vanilla and clove, along with fruity hints of orange and a touch of pepper.”
Where can you buy the new whiskey?
In the
United States, it retails for 39.99 dollars. You’ll find the Rye whisky at a variety of retailers, bars, and restaurants. It drinks beautifully neat but also shines in cocktails.
