The Macallan explores the rich world of tea

The Macallan is introducing a duo of whiskies to the Harmony Collection for the fifth time. This time, the distillery has partnered with a British tea shop.

The theming of The Macallan's whiskies is tea, specifically Honey Orchid Tea and Cherrywood Lapsang Tea.

Jaume Ferras, Creative Director at The Macallan, says that the partnership uniquely merges the worlds of tea and whisky.

‘By collaborating with JING, we've been able to explore new dimensions of taste and storytelling, which has resulted in two whiskies that are both innovative and deeply connected to the land.’

What are The Macallan Harmony Collection JING whiskies?

The distillery in Speyside matured the spirit for the single malt whiskies in a blend of various casks. This has given The Macallan prominent notes reminiscent of the tea varieties.

Although the whiskies come from similar casks, they are notably different in character. One is fruity in taste, while the other is a little spicier on the palate.

What is The Macallan Harmony Inspired by Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea?

Below are the details of the Honey Orchid variant from The Macallan Harmony Collection.

Maturation: Mainly American oak sherry casks, supplemented with European oak sherry casks and ex-bourbon casks

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Warm honey, peach and apricot, with hints of tropical fruit, gentle toffee and sweet oak.
Palate: Sweet honey and ripe stone fruit like peach, syrup, warm citrus, woven with light floral notes and a leafy structure.
Finish: Fruity and complex, with a hint of tropical freshness and a touch of oak.

The whisky is bottled at an alcohol content of 43.9 percent alcohol by volume (ABV).

The Macallan Inspired By Organic Cherrywood Lapsang Tea

Maturation: Mainly European oak sherry casks, supplemented with American oak sherry casks
Price: Not disclosed yet - exclusively for Global Travel Retail from 1 October 2025

Aroma: Subtle smoke of cherry wood, combined with dark sherry notes and a hint of dried fruit.
Palate Smoky yet elegant, with spicy undertones, hints of cocoa and mild wood sweetness.
Finish: Long and smoky, with a warm fruity accent and soft tannins.

The single malt whisky is bottled at 44.9 percent alcohol by volume (ABV). The price per bottle has not yet been announced. This whisky is reserved for Travel Retail and will only be available at airports.

Where can The Macallan Harmony Collection JING whiskies be purchased?

The Phoenix Honey Orchid variant is now released. This whisky is available through The Macallan's website and will also find its way to specialty store shelves. The price per bottle is 152 pounds (195 euros).
