Mixing your own cocktails sounds fun, but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Soon, though, you won’t have to: this machine does almost everything for you. Anyone can now serve up a delicious whisky cocktail without breaking a sweat or trying a hundred times. At tech show IFA 2026, the Chinese company Ori Future unveiled a machine that makes cocktails automatically.
The device is called the Ori Mix and looks a bit like a coffee machine. But instead of pulling espresso, it serves something entirely different: (whisky) cocktails. It even makes the ice for you.

Automatic cocktail maker

You can place several bottles of spirits around the Ori Mix: think rye whisky, blended whisky, single malt, or bourbon. The machine then measures out the right amounts to create your chosen cocktail.
And it doesn’t stop there. The bottom of the Ori Mix hides a pull-out section with different flavorings. According to Ori Future, these are natural aromas that work alongside the spirits to craft a range of cocktails.
You decide what ends up in your glass via a companion app. It features various recipes and shows which cocktails are possible with the ingredients currently loaded into the machine. After that, the Ori Mix takes care of the mixing.

Ice plays a starring role

It’s no coincidence the machine puts so much emphasis on ice. Ori Future originally started with a device that could make crystal-clear ice at home. The idea for the company was born after the founders were impressed by exceptionally clear ice they saw at a bar during a party.
The company later released a compact ice maker capable of producing different shapes—not just standard cubes, but also spheres, diamonds, and other striking forms.
With the Ori Mix, those two worlds now come together. Instead of only making ice, Ori Future aims to simplify both the preparation and the presentation of cocktails with a single device.

For now, a standout IFA showcase

The Ori Mix was shown to the public at IFA 2026 in Berlin. It’s not yet clear when the cocktail machine will be widely available or how much it will cost.
What is clear is that kitchen appliances are getting increasingly specialized. Where you once mainly had a coffee maker or blender on the counter, Ori Future now aims to automate much of the home bar as well.
For cocktail lovers, that could be an exciting development. You’ll spend less time measuring and mixing, while still being able to make a variety of drinks. Whether the Ori Mix will actually find its way into Dutch kitchens remains to be seen.
