The London Distillery Company has unveiled its first ever 10-year-old single malt whisky, marking a true first for the city. Never before has a whisky of this age come out of London. Say hello to Ten Times Around The Sun.
Since 2015, The London Distillery Company has been keeping a secret that’s only now been revealed. Quietly maturing in the warehouse was London’s oldest single malt whisky. The English distillery’s debut single malt is now officially a reality.
The whisky’s name is inspired by the sun and our planet’s orbit. Ten Times Around the Sun is a playful, original nod to the whisky’s age.

What is the Ten Times Around the Sun single malt whisky?

The spirit for London Distillery Company’s new single malt was distilled from Quench spring barley. It was then filled into a single ex-bourbon cask (cask number 7) for what ultimately became a 10-year maturation.
Only this year was the whisky drawn from the cask and bottled at 51.4% alcohol by volume (ABV), non-chill filtered and with natural color. For Matt McKay, managing director at The London Distillery Company, it’s a moment to remember.
“This release is a tangible piece of London whisky history, one that survived the distillery’s closure in 2019 and now emerges as a symbol of our return. It’s a whisky born of our past, shaped by our revival, and confidently pointing to our bold, beautiful future.”

What are the tasting notes of this London single malt?

Alongside the announcement, the distillery shared what to expect from Ten Times Around the Sun. Here are the tasting notes:
  • Nose: Bright aromas of tinned peach and mango, followed by soft nougat, dusty dunnage floors, and dry oak spice.
  • Palate: Full and fruit-forward with syrupy sweetness, spiced fruits, milk chocolate, and creamy cereals. Subtle cask-driven pepper adds extra tension.
  • Finish: Long and layered, with lingering ripe fruit slowly giving way to tingling Szechuan pepper.

Only 220 bottles worldwide

The outturn is extremely limited: 220 bottles, with a price tag of 89.95 pounds. The official release is scheduled for Friday, 27 February 2026 via the distillery’s website. Given its historic significance and scarcity, this is a bottle firmly on the radar of both collectors and enthusiasts.
