Whisky collectors, take note: 2026 kicks off with a one-of-a-kind set up for sale

Collectors of rare whiskies were jolted awake at the start of the new year. An exceptionally rare opportunity has surfaced: a complete set of the Macallan Anniversary Malt Collection is up for sale.

The Macallan has been famed for decades for its single malts matured in sherry casks. The distillery once launched the Anniversary Malt series, which collectors eagerly pieced together over time.

The series debuted in 1983 and saw regular follow-up releases, each bottled in limited quantities. Back then, vintage bottlings with clear year statements were still rare, which makes this series unique.

It quickly grew into a beloved and valuable line among collectors.

A complete set from this Macallan series doesn’t surface often,but this time it has. The following bottles make up the Macallan Anniversary Collection currently on offer.

The collection belongs to a 72-year-old collector from Liguria, near the Italian–French border.

Over 30 years ago, she traveled to Scotland and caught the whisky bug. She began collecting The Macallan and ultimately assembled the complete Anniversary series.

At the time, she had no idea how rare the whiskies were or what the collection would eventually be worth, since buying and selling wasn’t her goal.

The set is now being sold, and the owner knows exactly what she has: liquid gold worth 167,637 dollars.

The whisky set is being sold through Mark Littler, who has a first on this: it’s the first time he’s had the entire run in-house, and in excellent condition.
