Wolfburn Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary with the Wolfburn 2023 Anniversary Series

Wolfburn is celebrating its 10th birthday, and who doesn't love a party? In honor of its anniversary, the distillery is releasing a special whisky. The Wolfburn 2023 Anniversary Series release is limited to just 680 bottles. It's a single cask expression that has spent more than nine years maturing in an ex-Oloroso sherry cask. This whisky, therefore, is a collector's edition. Originally casked in October 2013, it's now finally time for its unveiling, set for the 25th of January, 2023 - a date which also coincides with Burns Night.

The result of this whisky sounds purely delectable. A sniff of the Wolfburn 2023 Anniversary Series instantly radiates the warmth of the 52.3 percent ABV, yet it feels surprisingly smooth. Amidst, you'll experience sweet notes. The flavor presents a creamy palate, teasing your tongue with hints of autumn fruits that blend seamlessly with syrup and floral undertones. As you journey towards the finish, the whisky grows progressively sweeter, eventually leaving you with persistent Oloroso sherry nuances, according to Wolfburn.

Wolfburn reveals in their Instagram post that this is not the only celebratory whisky they will be releasing. It marks the beginning of a new series, ensuring that each Burns Night will be commemorated with the launch of a new Wolfburn Anniversary Series whisky. While nothing has been announced about the upcoming series, given that they started with a nine-year-old whisky, we don't anticipate the subsequent release to be a 3-year-old whisky.
