The Scottish distillery
Nc'Nean is renowned for its innovative approach and sustainable practices. This week, however, the whisky maker surprises us with something entirely different. It's time for a whisky liqueur.
FAQ

Nc’nean is a young, sustainable Scottish distillery focusing on organic whisky and innovative drinks.
- What does the name Nc’Nean stand for?
The name is derived from "Neachneohain", a Celtic nature goddess known as the "Queen of Spirits".
- Where can I buy Nc’Nean?
Nc’Nean whisky and special releases, like the whisky liqueur, can be found at various specialty stores.
The whisky liqueur will be released on Thursday, October 2nd. For the first time in the distillery's history, not a single malt whisky is produced, but a creamy liqueur.
Part of the Quiet Rebels series
This release is part of the Quiet Rebels series, in which Nc'Nean team members put their own creative twist on a bottling.
This time, it's Sarah's turn, who decided to do things entirely differently. Her idea? A silken whisky liqueur made from Nc'Nean's own single malt, combined with organic oats.
The result is a rich and creamy drink made entirely without dairy, which is fitting considering the distillery's practices.
Nc’Nean sets a sustainable and innovative course, which we have already written about frequently.
A classy whisky liqueur
With this step, Nc'Nean ventures into a category where you don't yet find many Scottish distilleries. While whisky liqueurs have existed for a while, a variant based on high-quality single malt and made with organic ingredients is a different story.
Only 2,000 bottles available
The issue is limited to 2,000 bottles available. Those who had subscribed to the Nc'Nean newsletter were given early access to sales on October 1st. From October 2nd, the liqueur will be more widely available in selected stores in the UK, Germany and The Netherlands.
So don't wait too long, because once it's gone, it's gone.
Simon is also releasing an edition
And there's another reason to keep an eye on Nc'Nean in the coming days. Not only is Sarah presenting her own creation, her husband Simon is also launching a new spirit this week. What precisely this will be, remains a secret from the distillery...
