In Scotland’s Lowlands, the Auchentoshan Distillery has announced a makeover. Its whisky is getting a fresh new look to move with the times. The whisky maker has also revealed something new.

Auchentoshan is now rolling out new packaging across all its whiskies. The design stands out with a layered new logo, an icon featuring the distillery’s three stills, and one striking detail: a handy tip on how to pronounce the whisky’s name.

According to Kirsteen Beeston, senior global marketing director for Scotch and Irish at Suntory Global Spirits, the packaging refresh is a natural next step.

Brand-new Auchentoshan whisky

The distillery’s second big announcement is a brand-new whisky: the Auchentoshan 12 Year Old Double Cask, which replaces the current 12-year-old expression.

The whisky is triple-distilled, then matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. Tasting notes include sweet baked treats, oak, mandarin, lime, citrus zest, and ginger.

The whisky is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume (ABV).

How much does the new Auchentoshan 12 Year Old Double Cask cost?

The new whisky will be sold worldwide with a recommended retail price of £38. The distillery will also begin rolling out all the new packaging at the end of this month.
