These 12 Special Release Whiskies Just Got a Lot Cheaper

Add Whisky Monkeys as a Google favoriteThere is always something interesting about finding an older Special Release still sitting on a shop shelf. Finding one with a sizeable discount attached to it makes things even better. And right now there are quite a few of them on sale in whisky deals you donj't want to miss.
The Whisky Exchange has reduced a selection of older Diageo Special Releases, with bottles from Talisker, Lagavulin, Mortlach, Royal Lochnagar, Benrinnes and Blair Athol among them. Some are relatively recent, but others take us all the way back to the Special Releases of 2017.
Older Special Releases are getting cheaper
Diageo releases its Special Releases collection every year, usually bringing together whiskies from several of its distilleries. They tend to be a little different from the bottles you find in the regular range, with unusual cask choices, higher strengths and sometimes much older whisky.

Unfortunately, the evidence you referred to consists only of two people talking about the whisky, without any explanation or identification. We have not spoken to the individuals in the video ourselves, nor can we verify who they are. We describe it as a Chinese whisky because it is released by a Chinese distillery. As you mentioned, the distillery has chosen to label the product as “pure malt” instead of “Chinese whisky.” Based on that, we do not believe they are doing anything illegal.M0nkey16-11-2025
