What is Teeling Rising Reserve 4 whiskey?
Teeling Rising Reserve 4 is the fourth edition in the distillery’s premium whiskey series. After releases matured in Carcavelos, Marsala, and Ruby Port casks, it’s now time for something different: white wine casks.
This new whiskey is a 21-year-old single malt that spent over 18 years maturing in ex-bourbon barrels. It then received an extended finish in white wine casks, adding an intriguing twist to the flavor.
What are the tasting notes for Teeling Rising Reserve Series 4?
The dual maturation and finish in top-quality casks deliver a silky profile that stands apart within the Teeling range. Here are the distillery’s tasting notes:
- Nose: Notes of candied lemon, vanilla, cookie dough, toffee, with a hint of roasted barley.
- Palate: Bright tropical fruit, gentle tannins, citrus, and white chocolate.
- Finish: Long and smooth, with white chocolate, orchard fruit, and honey, followed by soft tannins.
The whiskey is bottled at 46% alcohol by volume (ABV).
