Valentine’s Day is the perfect moment to do something special for your loved ones. For the occasion, Tomatin Distillery is launching 2 romantically themed whisky cocktails. Here’s how to make both of them.
Usually, the marketing efforts of various companies revolve around special Valentine’s Day products: bonbons, limited-edition whiskies, flowers and gift boxes of all kinds. Tomatin has taken a different approach and created 2 tasty cocktails for whisky lovers.
Both cocktails are built around Tomatin 10 Year Old and Tomatin Double Cask. These expressions are known for their sweet aromas and fruity tasting notes. Here’s how to use them in a Valentine’s Day whisky cocktail.

How to make the Tomatin Peaches and Dream cocktail

This cocktail is a modern take on peaches and cream. Tomatin Peaches and Dream highlights the delicate, fruity nature of Tomatin 10 Year Old. The single malt whisky offers notes of ripe fruit such as peaches and apple, alongside buttery pastry, macadamia nuts and white chocolate.

How to Make the Tomatin Apple of My Eye Cocktail

The 2nd Valentine’s Day cocktail is made with Tomatin Double Cask. This single malt is matured in ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, resulting in tones of dark fruit, gentle spice and fresh apple. Muddled apple and honey or dairy-free caramel enhance the natural sweetness, creating a balanced and refreshing Valentine’s serve.

This is what you need:

  • 50ml of Tomatin Double Cask
  • 15ml of honey or dairy-free caramel
  • A splash of soda water Sliced apples of your choice (Tomatin recommends Pink Lady or Granny Smith apples)
  • Highball or tall glass
  • Bar spoon or long spoon
  • Cubed ice Straw (optional)
  • Cocktail skewers (optional)

How to make the cocktail:

First, place the apple slices into a glass (muddle for extra apple flavour) and add the Tomatin Double Cask and the honey or caramel. Stir the contents well and then fill the glass with ice. Top up with soda water and garnish, for example with apple slices.
